The quality on this video isn't so good since it was shot with a cell phone. (We SOOO need to invest in a good video camera). Looks like Kanyon has been watching too much Nitro Circus with her Dad.

Toilet Trouble
From this title, you are probably assuming that I am starting to toilet-train Kanyon...not the case. However, lately Kanyon has found the toilets, teaching me the hard way that I need to keep those bathroom doors closed.
I've haven't had a problem with her till recently. About a week ago I found her climbing on top of an open toilet bowl, however, she didn't play or get into the water. My first REAL experience of Kanyon in the toilet came on New Years Eve when we were celebrating at a friends house. We got talking to some friends and I happened to realize that Kanyon was being awfully quiet. So Jake went looking for her and all of a sudden we heard the recognizable sound of a toilet seat slamming closed. There she was. In the bathroom. Both feet were wet. Both arms were wet. And toilet paper was strung to all sides of the room, with some of it in the toilet. It was hard to yell at her 'cause we were all laughing about it. Luckily, I brought some PJ's for her to change into for the rest of the night.
Then my second experience with Kanyon and her fascination with toilets came today, New Years Day. Kind of the same scenario....Things were quiet and we wondered "Where is Kanyon?" We had learned to close the main bathroom door downstairs so she couldn't get in there. BUT...I didn't think about her going upstairs to play. I went looking for her and as I was going upstairs I could hear Kanyon saying "Baby. Baby." I checked her bathroom first...she wasn't there. I was relieved. However, I then realized the "Baby. Baby" sound was coming from MY bedroom!! I went in there and Kanyon was panicked because she couldn't get her baby out of the TOILET! So, I called Jake upstairs to fish Baby out and he threw her in the shower. Poor Kanyon had a fit. She was so upset that she couldn't hold Baby. So, I took Baby's clothes off her and threw them in the washer. I told Kanyon that she needed to give Baby a bath before she could play with her again. She did not hesitate to start to bathe her Baby. Here are the bath pics:

Pumpkin Walk
Friday night we got out and enjoyed one of the "October-ish" things to do around Utah. It was called the Pumpkin Walk. It is a HUGE line of 100's of pumpkins that have been carved by local people and businesses. Some carvings were super elaborate, and some were not. But the night air was beautiful and we had a great "family-time" enjoying the lights of the pumpkin walk.

I still Love NY
Kanyon and I try to go back to NY once a year. I always like to go in the fall because I get to enjoy all of my favorite things: the changing of the leaves, corn mazes, NY-style pizza & wings, halfmoon cookies, apple cider mills, and of course friends and family. This year we were able to spend 2 weeks back there. We enjoyed every minute of it. As usual, I didn't take many pictures, but I'll share a few of what I do have.
Even though it looks beautiful and sunny, it was super COLD! Kanyon got to run around in the leaves on one of the few days that it didn't rain.

Enjoy these Random End of Summer Pictures! I appologize right now for the quality of some of these pictures. A few were taken with a cell phone, which as we know, never quite give you high quality photos.
Kanyon had fun playing with Cousin Scotty when he came to visit this summer. As you can tell, her hair is a MESS from playing so hard! Jake and Rachel had fun playing on the Jet Ski's this summer also. But remember, "its all fun and game until someone gets hurt". This is Rachel after her surgery to fix her broken eye socket!

Summer Time, Summer Time
Last weekend we went to the Lake with Kate, Blake, Mason, Logan, & Carson! It was so much fun to be pulled behind the boat in a huge tube! Even the kids loved it!

Aunt Kate & Kanyon

A little girl with a funny-looking sunburn: If you look close, you can practically see Jake's finger marks across her forehead. You can definitely tell which places on her face got missed when he was applying the sunscreen. We'll learn from our mistakes...

Kanyon and I are doing "Mommy & Me" swim classes with our neighbor Deborah and her son Bryant. They have been fun...but she isn't going to be an Olympic swimmer at the end of this class. Kanyon likes to be in the water, just not UNDER it. We are learning to float on our back, blow bubbles, and chase toys!! Fun fun fun!

Something else that was fun was Katie's 28th Birthday dinner that we had at our house. However, the only pics that I took were of Kanyon. Sorry Kate!! We had a great dinner with cheesecake for dessert. As you will see in the pictures below, Kanyon loved it. I am not sure if she loved eating it or playing with it more. She was having so much fun we just let her go with it. If you don't like messy kids, don't scroll down.
