About a week before I was planning on delivering, Ridge still hadn't turned around to enter the birth canal. He had been laying horizontal across my belly for months and just didn't want to go the rest of the way. My doctor suggested that we try to manually flip this baby. So we went into the hospital, and externally, my doctor tried to flip this stubborn baby boy. After 15 minutes of pushing and pulling on my belly, the doctor decided it wasn't going to work. About a week later I went back to the doctor and we found out that the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times!! This made the cord too short to allow him to move all the way around. Poor little guy! My doctor said that there was a possibility that he could wiggle his way out of that mess and allow me to have a normal delivery, however, the possibility was low, unless he was an acrobat. We ended up deciding to schedule a C-Section. I felt better doing that than taking the chance of stressing the baby out in case he didn't "unravel".
So, my appointment was set for 6:00pm on Thursday, March 18th. This picture is of us on our way....

Here we are waiting to be admitted....

Jake's ready to go have this baby!
My procedure started at 6PM on the dot. Ridge Robert Christensen was born at 6:16PM, weighing in at 7lbs 6oz, measuring 19.5 inches long.
Kanyon is loving being a big sister (so far). She has such a great "motherly instinct" that she melts my heart everyday. She loves to hold the bottle for him and any time he cries she'll say "Don't cry Ridge". However, the way she says "Ridge" sounds more like "Roosh". Its super cute.
