Its the best that I can do..

So, I have been experimenting a little bit with Kanyons wild hair. But seriously..there is only so much I can do.

I tried this bow thing... it SOOO didn't work!

So I tried a different kind of bow. I thought this one worked pretty good until Jake came home and said that he didn't like it. But I should have guessed that. He is partial to the hair that sticks straight up.

A little side note: Kanyon loves to eat! And she makes a really cute humming noise when she does it. Today she had her first baby biscuit- and hummed all the way through it.

First Post of '09

Dear Friends & Family:
Yes, I know I need to update my blog more often. We are all just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I am a bad blogger. I keep saying "We need to take more pictures of Kanyon", but just saying it doesn't help me get pictures of her to blog. I am infamous for always having a camera and NEVER taking a picture. I'm sorry...its just a character flaw we're all going to have to accept.
BUT...to surprise you all...here is a new entry.
So far 2009 has been good to us. Jake hasn't been laid off, and with all the lay offs the company has had....well, that means there is more work for Jake's crew to do and they can stay busy all day long. The mobile spa business I have is proving very successful. I love it and women love it. I actually had some random lady yesterday order $65 of makeup off my website. I thought that was great.
We are finalizing our plans for our trip to Cancun in February. We are going with 4 other couples and have a long agenda of things we are going to do there. See the ruins, learn to scuba dive & snorkel, and the guys are going to go deep sea fishing. Jake is mostly excited about that one!
Kanyon is such a sweet little girl. She gets kind of sick of me by the end of the day, but when Dad walks in the door, she is all smiles and wants to play. She is growing like a weed. Her hair grows and acts like a weed. Always standing STRAIGHT up...or out if its on the sides of her head. I can wet it down and when it dries, POOF! Straight out again. Kate says that a girl is never too young for hairspray, but that doesn't help either. Right now we wear alot of hats when we go out... :) She is starting to think that she is too old for naps. When 9:30am rolls around, I can usually feed her some fruits & a bottle and put her down for a nap. No Problems. This past week has not been so easy. She doesn't want to go to sleep, probably afraid she might miss out on something. But the time that she is awake she is miserable because she is so tired! Silly little girl. I have to just pick her up, stuff a binki in her mouth and rock her till she falls asleep. That usually works. She has one tooth now and is starting to learn to pull herself up on things. She isn't crawling yet, but I think its coming soon. (...hopefully not TOO soon). Hope all of you are having a great January.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

We hope that all of you had a great Christmas and that you are looking forward to a wonderful 2009. Have fun & Be Safe.

Love, The Christensens

Days & Days After Christmas

We finally made it back from Price on Monday, the 29th! So we had another unwrapping party, this time at our own house. Kanyon had a great first Christmas and now she has so many toys that move, flash, and make noises that she doesn't know which one to play with first.

Its hard to believe that we just got done celebrating Kanyon's first Christmas. Time flies too fast. Every time I say that I am reminded of how old I am getting. Now I think about 2009 and it blows my mind. Thanks to all our friends and family that helped us through this eventful 2008. We love you all.

Christmas Day

Merry First Christmas Crazy Kanyon!

For some reason, people like to play dress up with her. But she's a good sport about it!

As you can see, Santa doesn't wrap any gifts at the Christensen house. That is something that I will have to get used to.

Cousin Syrys got a drum set from Santa for Christmas. Kanyon thought she was a rocker and banged around on them for a little while.

Kanyon and Aunt Sarah were all tuckered out from playing with soooo many toys that they had to break for a quick nap.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we drove down to Price to spend the holiday with Jake's family. It was alot of fun and there was alot of snow. Everyone had a great time either spending time outside sledding and snowmobiling, hunting (you can take a wild guess about who would have been the hunter), or else inside where it was warm enjoying the company of family.

At Jake's house they open all the family gifts on Christmas Eve. Here is Cousin Syrys helping Kanyon open her first gift of the night. What girl wouldn't like to get a new fur coat and boots to match? She loves them!

Here is Baby K with her Grandpa Dennis. They have fun playing together. She gets excited when he walks in the room 'cause she know she is going to get picked up and thrown in the air!

Here is Kanyon all wrapped up in a HUGE stocking getting ready for Santa to come. I think that the only thing she was asking for was to feel better. I think I even caught her writing a letter to an elf telling him to take her stuffy nose away with him, and if he did that she would be the bestest girl all year.

Christmas With The Andersons

We had a fun evening at The Andersons at our Christmas Eve's EVE Party (Dec 23 for any of you who got confused). We had a great baby back rib dinner and exchanged our gifts. Jake & I are now going to go to the spa thanks to Kate & Blake...that is if I can pull him away from Guitar Hero, and that one is thanks to all the kids! haha

Unfortunately Kanyon didn't feel so good. A stinkin' cold snuck up on her right before her First Christmas. But she's a trooper and enjoyed herself anyway.

Logan got an Aquadoodle and had fun drawing with water on the floor. That was until....

Mason opened up his talking alien "piggy" bank named Gobble. Then the fight was on.

This is Kate eating one of the many homemade fortune cookies I made to give them their gift of certificates for an evening out.

Bad Habits

Bad Habit: She is starting to suck her big toe! Whose kid is she anyway?!!

Bad Habit: She already has the "Who, ME??" attitude

Bad Habit: Already wants to take the Christmas decorations off of the tree.

Bad Habit: Sleeping in the oven on the counter on Thanksgiving Day. She is lucky someone didn't mistake her for the 20lb turkey.

The Launch

I am now an Independent BeautiControl Consultant and I am going to be selling BeautiControl products. I am SO excited. About a month ago I set the goal that I was going to launch my new endeavor on December 1, 2008...and here it is!

I have been using some of these products for about a year now and I just love them! There are all sorts of great products- skin care lines that are targeted to the age of your skin, spa products that can help you relax in the comfort of your own home, makeup that will become essentials for you, and even a men's product line. All these products are of high quality and are of a cosmeceutical grade. They are formulated with scientifically-advanced ingredients and have been dermatologist, ophthalmologist, sensitivity & allergy tested. And the best part is that they are never tested on animals.

To start things out with a bang, I want to make a special offer.

For the FIRST 4 PEOPLE who book and host a spa party with me during the month of December, I will give you this:

* 40% off of your skin care maintenance set. This set includes a cleanser, exfoliater, toner, & moisturizer
* a free neck wrap
* credit towards a product of your choice, depending on the sales of your party.
If your party brings in $200-299 I'll give you 10% of the sales toward the product of your choice
If your party brings in $300-500 I'll give you 15% of the sales toward the product of your choice
If your party brings in $500 or more I'll give you 20% of the sales toward the product of your choice
*AND I will also give you these 2 PRODUCTS FOR FREE AS A SPECIAL BONUS for helping me make my debut
Luxuries of the Sea Ocean Bath ($30 value) and
Luxuries of the Sea Instant Comfort Gel ($25 value)

Now your probably wondering...What is a Spa Party? Let me tell you! It's a wonderful way to spend time with your girlfriends and get pampered at the same time. You will be able to try some of our top selling items. It is a relaxing head to toe spa escape featuring high quality, botanically based skin care & spa treatments for your face, lips, hands, & feet.

Give you and your girlfriends the gift of relaxation, rejuvenation and fun this holiday season.

If you are interested in hosting a spa party and relaxing with your girlfriends, please contact me as soon as you can with possible dates you would like to host your spa. Feel free to ask me any questions. Don't hesitate...only the first 4 bookings can receive ALL of those perks.

I have also set up a website solely for the purpose of BeautiControl. On this site you can check out all the products and more. Please visit www.BeautiPage.com/BeMyEscape
I will also be using a different email address for BeautiControl correspondence at times. Please add this address to your "safe list".

I am really excited to be doing this, and the spa parties are so much fun! I hope you get a chance to enjoy one.

Let's try to catch up....

Ok, For all of you out there who were worried about us 'cause I haven't posted an entry in a while, this update is for you.

WE WERE ON VACATION IN PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA!!

Yes, that is right. We were living life in sunny Florida. It was such a great trip. We were able to stay with Jake's Aunt Debbie & Uncle Fred. (a special "thanks" to you!) They have a house that sits on a waterway that heads out to the ocean. Jake would set his alarm at night so he could wake up extra early to go out fishing on the dock for some cool salt water fish. He was having the time of his life.
The first weekend we were in Florida, we spent it in Gainsville,- home of the Florida Gators! We all went to our first "Gators Tailgating" party at the University of Florida. There is quite a following of fans in that city. I think the tailgating parties surrounded the University about 4 blocks in each direction. Jake went on to watch the game in the stadium. A dream come true for him. Florida played South Carolina and won, 56-6. GO GATORS!!

The rest of our week was filled with all sorts of family fun. Alot of Jakes family lives down there so we got to spend time with Kanyon's Great Grandma, and Jake's aunts, uncles, sisters, cousins... the whole crew. We had fun shopping, eating sushi, and getting splashed at the beach. Jake's uncle took us out in his boat and we got to see beautiful mansions on the coast. It was seriously hard to think about having that much money...and most of them probably had a $20 million yacht to go with it. It was crazy to see. Jake & I spent one day in Ft. Lauderdale walking up & down the A1A. A1A is a "beachfront avenue" (yes, just like the Vanilla Ice song..lol). On one side there is a beach and the ocean, and the other side is full of shops and restaurants. We ate lunch at a place called The Rock Bar. I think we were served the biggest drinks ever at this place. The food wasn't so bad either. Jake also got to go scuba diving for the first time. He thought it was awesome. He found a starfish and brought it home as a souvenir. We had an awesome trip and would like to thank everyone in Florida for making it that way for us. We can't wait to come back.
