Let's try to catch up....

Ok, For all of you out there who were worried about us 'cause I haven't posted an entry in a while, this update is for you.

WE WERE ON VACATION IN PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA!!

Yes, that is right. We were living life in sunny Florida. It was such a great trip. We were able to stay with Jake's Aunt Debbie & Uncle Fred. (a special "thanks" to you!) They have a house that sits on a waterway that heads out to the ocean. Jake would set his alarm at night so he could wake up extra early to go out fishing on the dock for some cool salt water fish. He was having the time of his life.
The first weekend we were in Florida, we spent it in Gainsville,- home of the Florida Gators! We all went to our first "Gators Tailgating" party at the University of Florida. There is quite a following of fans in that city. I think the tailgating parties surrounded the University about 4 blocks in each direction. Jake went on to watch the game in the stadium. A dream come true for him. Florida played South Carolina and won, 56-6. GO GATORS!!

The rest of our week was filled with all sorts of family fun. Alot of Jakes family lives down there so we got to spend time with Kanyon's Great Grandma, and Jake's aunts, uncles, sisters, cousins... the whole crew. We had fun shopping, eating sushi, and getting splashed at the beach. Jake's uncle took us out in his boat and we got to see beautiful mansions on the coast. It was seriously hard to think about having that much money...and most of them probably had a $20 million yacht to go with it. It was crazy to see. Jake & I spent one day in Ft. Lauderdale walking up & down the A1A. A1A is a "beachfront avenue" (yes, just like the Vanilla Ice song..lol). On one side there is a beach and the ocean, and the other side is full of shops and restaurants. We ate lunch at a place called The Rock Bar. I think we were served the biggest drinks ever at this place. The food wasn't so bad either. Jake also got to go scuba diving for the first time. He thought it was awesome. He found a starfish and brought it home as a souvenir. We had an awesome trip and would like to thank everyone in Florida for making it that way for us. We can't wait to come back.

Halloween

We had a great first Halloween for Kanyon this year. We dressed her up as a fish and Jake as a fisherman. It was so perfect. Jake used a fishing pole to "trick or treat" with. People loved it. We also had a fun Halloween party here Saturday night with a bunch of friends. Thanks to those who showed up and made this a memorable Halloween for our family.

New York

New York was a great trip. I took Kanyon there for the first time. She traveled really well, barely made a peep at all on the planes. We were there for 2 weeks and the weather was perfect-with the exception of a couple rainy days. We were able to do everything we wanted to. We visited lots of family and friends, relaxed, played the NY lotto, ate NY style pizza, had REAL chicken wings, ate the best fish fry, went to a cider mill, took a hay ride, and had fun tromping around in the mud through a corn maze. The best thing of all is that I brought home a dozen half moon cookies! YUM! Sorry, but they are all gone now and I can't share, but they were really good. (Except for yours Charolette)

I love October

I think October has to be one of my favorite months. And, no, its not just cause my birthday falls within these 31 days. I love October because its not too hot and the sun is still shining. I love October because its not wierd for a kid to dress up like a dead cheerleader, in fact we give her candy for it. I love October because people think its funny for someone to chase you with a chain saw. (I, for one am not one of those people who think its funny). I love October because it reminds me of my mom telling me "Don't slip on the wet leaves!" every time I walked out the door. (She said it so often it turned into a joke). I love October because I think of apple cider, pumpkin patches, hay rides, corn mazes, and happy kids all hopped up on sugar! This October has and will be a good one. Jake got to come home, Kanyon is growing up and eating baby food, I am going to NY, I will be turning 30 (not sure if that makes this a good month or not, I haven't quite decided), and Jake & Kanyon will get to go Trick Or Treating for the first time. I hope all of you can enjoy October as much as I will.
Below I have posted some pics of some of our early October happenings.

This is Kanyon eating squash for the first time. I was actually kind of disappointed that she didn't make a terrible face at the taste of it and spit it all out. It was one of the few times I had the camera ready to catch a moment like that. But instead it was funny to watch her always try to shove her fingers in her mouth. I was impressed that she ate the entire container of it on her first try! An appetite like her Daddy.

We took a field trip to Gardner Village with Nana. (And I do mean FIELD TRIP- its alot of work getting 3 kids, a Nana, a pregnant woman and me in one car with all the necessities for everyone. I thought we were going to have to rent a bus to get there, but Kate's Durango worked just fine.)
And I forgot to mention earlier that Kanyon & I rode the Front Runner for the first time! Whoo hoo!
PS- These will be the last posts for a while until I get back from NY. I can guarantee you Jake won't update it.
Happy October!

He's Baacck!

Yippee! Jake is finally back from Texas! Its been an entire month! I am glad he is a hard worker, but I am REALLY glad he is home now. We had a fun "Welcome Home" party for him when he got back, complete with balloons and presents. (but there was no camera taking any pictures of that..boo!) Anyway, here were some highlights of his first day back home.

Kanyon had her 4 month dr appt the same day Jake got home. Dr told us to start rice cereal...so here are a couple pics of our first attempt. It actually didn't go all that bad.
