What am I, a pin cushion?

Kanyon has been a trooper all week. On Monday she went to the doctor and got her 2 month shots. (I know, I can't believe she is 2 months already!) She had to get 4 shots, 2 in each leg. The nurses were good and did them all at one time...leaving me to hear only one high pitched squeal from her. (Which I am thankful for, I don't think I would have been able to hear that awful sound twice).
While at the doctors office, I asked him how he felt about Kanyon getting her ears pierced. He said that as long as she had her first round of shots, she should be good to go. So, on Saturday Jake thought it would be a good day to take her to get them done. So off to the mall we went. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to listen to her "squawk" while being pricked again, so I left Kanyon in the loving arms of her father while I went shopping. Wouldn't you know it, she barely let out a peep when they pierced her ears. Jake said that she was mostly mad 'cause he had to hold her hands down and keep her head straight. But all in all, she looks cute and wants to show off her new jewels here on her blog.

Baby Kanyon

Here are some random pics of Kanyon. She has had alot of fun with so many family members around to hold her. In these pictures she is having fun laying by cousin Logan and being held by Aunt Sarah, cousin Syrys, & Uncle Dave. She was also sent an adorable blue seahorse toy by my friend Michelle. Thanks Michelle for everything! She loves it all!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July. A few of Jake's buddies and their wives all got together and went camping. We went to hang out with them during the day since we weren't sure how good Kanyon would do camping yet. We had alot of fun riding the 4-wheelers and seeing the beautiful mountain scenery. We also sat around watching the many dogs run around, dig holes, and chew on dead deer legs. (Sick, I know, but I bet that was a great treat for the dog!)The rest of the time was spent just hanging out and listening to the guys talk about old times and laughing about it. Jake is really lucky to have so many close friends that married such good women! It makes it easy to hang out with them and have fun. We also were able to take the boat out on the lake and everyone enjoyed themselves either fishing or wakeboarding.

Photogenic?...I think not

So, Jakes Grandma's birthday is coming up and we thought it would be nice to take a good picture of Kanyon and frame it for her. Sounds easier than it is. I seriously took 49 pictures of this little girl and could not get ONE good one. I thought some of the pictures were funny so I thought I would share. Needless to say, we'll try again today for a good picture!
P.S. - If you click on the collage it will make it bigger so you can see the pictures better.

A little fun in the sun

Today we all got out and had some fun in the sun. We decided that we would go miniature golfing with Kate and her family. It was a lot of fun. We also decided to hit some balls at the batting cages. I haven't done that in years. It was a lot of fun for all of us.

Then later, Jake wanted to go drive up Farmington Canyon to look for deer. It was a good ride. The scenery is beautiful. If you look close at the picture, you will see the winding dirt road to the right on the side of the mountain. Now, me, coming from a small town in NY, I am not used to mountains like this... and I don't particularly like riding that close to the edge, but I lived through it to blog about it.

Our first summer...

We are enjoying our first summer together. We've had lots of friends and family to share it with. We just want to thank everyone for their help so far. Everyone has amazed us with the love they have shown us and the smiles they have brought us. This has been an amazing experience for me. I love you all.

Nothing much to say...

But, I have a couple of new pics. On Monday we went and walked around Thanksgiving Point Gardens. Everything was beautiful- except for the sunburn I got on my arms from pushing the stroller around. Here is Kanyon playing "hide and go seek" in the flowers. Can you tell which one is her? haha.

For those curious eyes of yours...

Here are some new pics. Its really all I have to put on this blog since we don't do too much around here right now. We are having fun with Aunt Sue here, and because of her we have beautiful flowers in our yard and a nice organized pantry. Also Jake's sister Rachel is visiting from Florida and is enjoying her time with Kanyon. Enjoy these pics and I'll try to be back soon.

PS- I lost my iPod and I'm mad!! If you know where it is let me know! :)

Welcome to the World Baby Kanyon

Kanyon made her entrance at 5:56am on 5/14/08. We are so glad to have her here. Both labor & delivery went well. If you ask Kate, she'll tell you I had it easy since I slept through most of the labor part. I will tell you that there were still parts of it that made me promise myself that I would never do this again... but only time will tell.

These first few weeks have been filled with family and friends. I used to think that they were going to be filled with rest and relaxation with my new baby, but now I know that couldn't be farther from the truth. I will try to keep up on this "blogging" thing, but if you know me well, you won't hold your breath for new posts.
